The Astier-Pécher Literary & Film Agency represents fiction and non-fiction authors, rights holders and publishers from all over the world. It was founded in February 2006 by Pierre Astier, founder and director of Editions Le Serpent à Plumes from 1988 to 2004, and Laure Pécher, associate agent and editor at Les Classiques du Monde (Editions Zoé).
Pierre Astier — Founder of the Agency. After working for ten years in the art world (Karl Flinker Gallery, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, Palazzo Grassi, Venice), Pierre created in 1988 the quarterly short stories magazine Le Serpent à Plumes and then, in 1993, the publishing house, Le Serpent à Plumes, focusing on contemporary fiction.
Laure Pécher — Co-founder of the Agency. Laure represents both authors and publishers. After having studied Byzantine philology, she worked for five years at Le Serpent à Plumes as rights manager. In 2002, she started publishing classics with Les Classiques du Monde at Editions Zoé (Geneva).
Jérôme Bouchaud — Associate Agent/Asia Bureau. Based in Asia, Jérôme is in charge of the Agency’s Asian clients. He is also the founding publisher of Editions Jentayu, a publishing house dedicated to the translation into French language of literary works from Asia.
